In the United States, Raymond promotes devotion to the
Sacred Heart of Jesus as a
vital means of sanctification for Catholic Action. He is
assisted in this important work by his wife, Theresa, and his
teenage children. Together, they have set in motion the
Legionaries of the Sacred Heart as their primary means to
re-evangelize the baptized. The Legionaries’ mission is
threefold:
(1) Defend the Divinity
of Jesus Christ as a response to the de-Christianization
of the West caused by secularism, agnosticism and Islam;
(2) Defend the Real
Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and
(3) Revive the notions
of good and evil to combat the loss of the sense of sin
and virtue. In his capacity as Chairman of the New
Evangelization Office at the National Shrine of the
Sacred Heart, he regularly addresses audiences at the
Shrine and in various parishes.
